Welcome to Amsterdam, where even last-minute trips and unexpected storms can't dampen the spirit of exploration! 🌧️ Our journey began with a quick train ride from the airport, although we encountered a bit of a challenge with limited space for our pram. However, we quickly adapted, opting for Amsterdam's efficient tram system which conveniently offers designated pram spaces. 🚋

Despite the weather's unpredictability, we found ourselves strolling through the charming streets of Amsterdam, with our little one comfortably nestled in the pram under a rain cover. Walking turned out to be our preferred mode of transportation, allowing us to soak in the city's unique atmosphere while easily manoeuvring through its picturesque alleys and canals. 🚶‍♂️👶

One challenge we faced during our trip was the scarcity of baby-changing facilities, a common concern for traveling parents. However, we discovered that many museums in Amsterdam are equipped with excellent baby facilities, providing a welcome respite for both parents and little explorers. 🏛️👶

When it came to dining, we found that many of the city's smaller restaurants lacked high chairs. Nevertheless, Amsterdam's culinary scene offers plenty of cafes and eateries willing to accommodate our needs. 🍽️👨‍👩‍👧

We opted to take the bus back to the airport, which turned out to be a convenient choice with plenty of space for the pram and no need for changes. 🚌

On returning to the airport, we encountered another challenge: a wait of over 1 hour to get through security and passport control on a quiet afternoon. The waiting area for the gate was downstairs, where the pram was taken off us.

Family Travel Tip: Consider using a carrier in the airport, as we had a long walk from the gate to passport control on arrival then a wait at the gate without the pram.

Navigating Amsterdam's Public Transportation: When using the tram and buses, there is a designated door for prams towards the rear. Use this door to get on and off, ensuring a smooth journey with your little one. Additionally, you can use a debit card to tap on and off the tram and buses, eliminating the need to worry about finding ticket machines. 🚋💳

Visiting Amsterdam with a toddler proved to be a rewarding yet challenging experience. While we cherished the memories made exploring this vibrant city, we've decided to wait until our little one is a bit older before visiting again. Amsterdam's charm remains irresistible, and we look forward to returning when our little explorer is ready to fully embrace all the wonders this city has to offer. ✈️🌍
